Glocal Visionary: Mrs. Theresa Ify Imohe
Mrs. Theresa Ify Imohe, the visionary founder of Glocal Academy, was a distinguished educationist with a passion for excellence and transformation. Her extensive experience in the United States equipped her with a global perspective and deep understanding of international best practices in education. Driven by a desire to replicate that excellence in Nigeria, she relocated to Abuja with a clear mission: to make a lasting impact on the nation’s education sector.
Her commitment was rooted in a firm belief that every child deserves access to quality learning, one that empowers them to realize their full potential and grow into responsible global citizens. Through Glocal Academy, she set out to merge global standards with local values — a vision that continues to inspire the school today.
Humble Beginnings — August 2021
The journey of Glocal Academy began with a simple yet strategic step — a summer coaching center launched in August 2021. With just ten students, Mrs. Imohe used the opportunity to test the waters, assess demand, and refine her educational vision.
In a short time, the coaching center earned a reputation for delivering engaging and enriching learning experiences. Word of mouth spread quickly, and so did demand. By the end of that summer, it became clear that the center had outgrown its purpose. This success laid the foundation for the birth of Glocal Academy as a full-fledged school in September 2021.

Glocal Academy’s vision is to awaken every child’s potential, nurturing godliness, creativity, and confidence within a dynamic learning space.The school’s mission is to help scholars identify their innate abilities and develop creative thinking skills, equipping them to become globally competitive ambassadors with a strong sense of identity and purpose. Its motto, “Reaching Global Heights with Local Creativity,”reflects the school’s commitment to fusing global excellence with indigenous ingenuity.

Today, Glocal Academy offers both Primary (Basic) and Junior Secondary education (JSS1–3), meeting the diverse needs of its growing student body and preparing them for a future of limitless possibilities.
